Who we are
This is the website for “Your Personal Crypto Assistant”. The root website address is: https://www.yourpersonalcryptoassistant.com/. I believe in privacy for everyone and attempt to collect and store the minimum personal information required. I’m not a lawyer nor a megacorporation with a department of lawyers on retainer, but here I’ll explain in plain language how data is collected and why.
Visiting My Site
When you visit my website, you, your browsing device, anyone with access to your device, every system and person with access to the systems in between your computer and my website as well as my website will have information about your visit. How much information is known by each participant depends on what systems and actions you use and can sometimes be quite a lot, or not so much.
My site uses WordPress with default plugins that generally capture the IP address shown by the incoming web request as well as information about the browser being used. In general this is done to be able to automatically render the site in a way that works best for your browsing device, for example automatically formatting differently for a phone vs. a desktop computer. In addition, this information can be used to reduce malicious attacks. Personally, I’m not interested in this and don’t store / tabulate / process it at all with the exception of looking at reports my web hosting provider displays showing likely locations of visitors by geographic region (based on IP addresses).
This data is kept as part of the hosting provider, WordPress and plugin software and I don’t know how long it’s kept for as part of their normal process.
Currently comments, file uploads, etc. are disabled on this site so you don’t have the ability to provide me any more private data on this site.
Cookies
The software may store some information in cookies on your computer to provide faster / better access on your next visit to this site. These are for your convenience but you should feel free to block cookie storage or clear your cookies on a regular basis. The site should not depend on cookies so everything should still work fine.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with
I don’t share your data with anyone else – but it is possible that my hosting provider, WordPress or some of the WordPress plugins may share the data captured by your visit. This is generally the IP address and other information shown by the incoming web request. NOTE: I will comply with legal law enforcement requests so while not much information is captured, what there is may be shared.
How long we retain your data
Data is kept as part of the hosting provider, WordPress and plugin software and I don’t know how long they keep the data as part of their normal process. For me, I don’t keep any of your data separately for any time.
Since comments, file uploads, etc. are disabled on this site you don’t have the ability to provide me any more private data on this site.
What rights you have over your data
In general, you own your personal data and I don’t claim any rights to it. If I allowed comments, posts or uploads, I’d let you request to receive an exported file of that data – but I don’t. If I allowed comments, posts or uploads, I’d let you request to have them deleted – one of the reasons I don’t allow that. Note that this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Emails
The above privacy policy applies strictly to this web site. If you send emails to me at any address on this domain the above policy does not apply.
Emails generally contain more personal information than a web browser and you should take appropriate precautions relative to your level of concern about your private communications.
Email systems today (2021) are generally very open, allowing anyone sending, receiving or in the middle to see not only the headers but the full text of the message. I am researching encryption options and will provide an encrypted email address in the future to be used for secure communications.
